Background of
Dr. Christopher A. Wolter

His father was in the U.S. Navy, and was transferred to a new base every two years.  Because of this, Dr. Wolter had the opportunity to live in many different places while he was growing up.

Right before his father retired from the Navy, his final station was Alameda, Califiornia.  The family decided that, of all the places to live on this planet, it would be just about impossible to do better than the East Bay Area.   So, they searched for a home, and finally moved into a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom house in Lafayette that they bought for $ 19,500.
